Our Crisis Advocates assist survivors by:
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention in a safe, non-judgmental space
- Help you explore your options, including medical care, legal pathways, and safety planning
- Connect you to resources such as counseling, housing, financial assistance, and community services
- Create a personalized safety plan based on your situation and needs
- Assist with urgent needs such as shelter referrals, transportation, and emergency support
- Accompany you to the hospital for a Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE)
- Support you in receiving medical care without requiring a report to law enforcement
- Explain each step of the exam process and what to expect during your visit
- Help you understand your rights and options throughout the process
- Provide steady, supportive presence during and after medical care
- Assist with filing protection orders (Civil, Temporary, and Juvenile Protection Orders)
- Help you understand your legal rights in both criminal and civil cases
- Accompany you to court or meetings with law enforcement for support
- Provide guidance and support through Title IX processes in schools or colleges
- Help you prepare for next steps in legal and administrative processes
- Help you understand how to support your loved one in a safe, trauma-informed way
- Offer guidance on responding without judgment while honoring their autonomy
- Connect you to resources that support both you and your loved one
- Help you navigate difficult conversations and boundaries
- Support your own well-being while you support someone else
