National Sexual Assault Legal Hotline

Free, Confidential Legal Information for Survivors of Sexual Violence

Survivors of sexual violence often have questions about their legal rights and options. The National Sexual Assault Legal Hotline provides free, confidential access to trauma-informed legal information and support for individuals who have experienced sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, abuse, or other forms of sexual violence.

Directed by the Take Back The Night Foundation, the hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by legal professionals and victim advocates who can help survivors better understand their options for seeking justice and protection.

Whether the violence occurred recently or years ago, survivors can contact the hotline to receive information about reporting options, protective orders, civil and criminal legal processes, workplace or school concerns, and other legal issues related to sexual violence.

About Take Back The Night

Take Back The Night Foundation is part of the oldest movement to end sexual violence, dating back to the 1970s. The organization works to support survivors, provide resources, and empower communities to prevent sexual violence through education, advocacy, and action.

Please Note: The National Sexual Assault Legal Hotline provides legal information and advocacy support but does not establish an attorney-client relationship through initial hotline contact. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or contact local emergency services.
